About Me
I have always wanted to be a therapist. In therapy, I combine my passion for understanding human behavior with a commitment to helping others. I earned a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Brooklyn College where my training included Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT, DBT, Attachment Therapy, and Harm Reduction.
My experience includes working at the Osborne Association, supporting fathers returning from prison, providing group and individual counseling on topics such as parenting, stress management, and mental health. I have worked at Housing Works Adult Day Health Care Center, supporting clients with emotional, behavioral, and medical challenges, including substance abuse and HIV.
I was born and raised in Germany and have been living in New York City since 2004. I’ve been a father since 2013. Prior to coming to New York, I earned a Masters degree in Communication Research from Freie Universität Berlin. My thesis was the first academic paper of its kind in Germany, pioneering the use of mobile phones for research purposes introduced a novel approach to mobile market research, focusing on using text messaging. For those who can remember, it was the time when text messages were only 160 characters long and did not include pictures.
After moving to New York City, I spent over a decade in Market Research, analyzing consumer behavior and exploring how people make decisions to meet their needs and desires. While the work was rewarding, I sought a more meaningful way to use my skills and experiences.
Today, I divide my time between my private practice and counseling at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health. My clients include individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and more. Through my diverse experiences, I’ve developed deep empathy, social intelligence, and the ability to support individuals through significant life changes. I strive to create a compassionate, empowering space for each client to heal and grow.
