FAQs
Where are you located?
My practice is exclusively virtual, for clients in the state of New York.
How long is a session?
Individual sessions are 45-50 minutes.
How often do we meet?
I generally suggest weekly meetings because they allow the time needed for us to connect, and the opportunity for meaningful change. We can discuss if it would be helpful to increase the length of the session or the frequency of meetings.
What's the first meeting like?
Our first meeting will include me asking you questions to get a sense of your background, the issues you are dealing with, and the goals you have. We will go at a pace that makes sense for you and your situation.
What if I need to cancel?
If you’re unable to make it to a session, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. I understand life/emergencies happen and am as flexible as possible to accommodate for this.
How does online therapy work?
Online therapy has demonstrated efficacy. Studies show high levels of client satisfaction and good therapeutic outcomes. Online therapy can be done on a smartphone, on most tablets, and most computers. If you’re not sure if you have the right stuff, I’m happy to discuss it.
I email you a secure web address (a link).
You click on the link at our appointment time.
I log on and our appointment begins.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, I do not prescribe medication. If, after working together for some time, we decide that medication might be appropriate, I collaborate with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners that I can refer you to and collaborate with on your treatment.
How can I get in touch with you?
